It's niice! Between this movie and "Jackass: Number Two" my immature needs should be filled this Fall.
HERE IS THE CLIPI suggest viewing the Quicktime clip, as the Windows Media clip crashed Netscape for me.
Somehow I missed the link at the bottom of the page to
RPS25!
Holy crap! It only has
151.48 QUINTILLION layouts.
Here is how you "say" the 350 outcomes:
My personal favorite? Cockroach sleeps in fur of Wolf.
Hell, I can't even make the gesture for 'Wolf'!
Rock.
Paper.
Scissors.
So you thing you've got what it takes to make it in the brutal world of competitive Rock-Paper-Scissors, punk? Well you'd better head over to the
official site for the
RPS Society and make sure before you do something rash.
Here is a video to illustrate the exciting world of competitive RPS...if you dare! And remember, no vertical paper!
Once you've got the basics down, try something a little bit harder,
like this! Good luck.
In 1972, after 15 years of research Prof. Anne Kilmer (professor of Assyriology, University of California, and a curator at the Lowie Museum of Anthropology at Berkeley) transcribed one of the oldest known pieces of music notation in the world.
Clay tablets relating to music, containing the cuneiform signs of the "Hurrian" language, had been excavated in the early 1950s at the Syrian city of ancient Ugarit in what is now modern Ras Shamra. One text contained a complete hymn, both words and music and is the oldest known preserved music notation in the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, here is a midi version of...
THE OLDEST SONG IN THE WORLD!!!
Compared to last week's surf extravaganza, this week's
Mix is a little wacky.
A fun song to begin from
Sparks. This song might just as well be titled "Requiem For Yuppie Scum" or Metrosexuals or whatever the hell they call soulless businessmen nowadays. Next comes "2am" from one of my favorite recent albums, by the band
Thee More Shallow. Perhaps the best song ever about noisy neighbors.
When the CD by
The Plastic Constellations came out in January, I sort of dismissed it. I don't know why; it just didn't tickle my fancy. What a mistake! It's a really good CD.
Mates of State delivers about the catchiest pop diddy I've heard in a long time. If I'm not mistaken, this song is being used in the trailer for Sophia Coppola's upcoming film,
Marie Antoinette. Not sure I have much interest in the film, but I dig the song.
Then we switch gears completely for the next three songs. The first is an awesome dance track by
DjD. Prepare to throw yourself around the room! Next comes a...wait for it...country song! Nooooo! Well, I think you'd call
Bonnie "Prince" Billy an 'alternative country' artist, but still. This album comes out in September, so be on the lookout for it--it's really beautiful, especially the exquisite harmonies. And don't worry; unless Toby Keith grows a few more brain cells, don't expect to find any
real country songs in the
Mix (unless they're really old!). Talk about the sounds of your childhood--the next track consists of various musical cues from the Bugs Bunny cartoons of the 40's and 50's by
Carl Stalling. Just soak in the memories while listening to it! I tried to connect the particular cues to the cartoons and was startled by how many I still remembered. Quite a statement about the quality of the songs, I think.
The long track this week isn't so long, and it definitely isn't new. It's a reissue of the classic
This Heat live album from the late 70's! Wow, do I love this album. Interesting stuff, even by today's standards. Next comes a weird little number by Mclusky that's good for a laugh and a head-bang. The classic selection this week comes from another reissue, this time by
Coke Escovedo. Holy shit, is the album "Coke" awesome! I recommend tracking it down if you like the soulful jazz thing.
Sorry I don't provide Amazon links for the albums, but I can't get the URL to copy and paste properly for some reason. It's very frustrating, and this is already hard enough without adding more frustration. Also, I'm adding *Rapidshare links for each song rather than the entire bundle. That way, you can snag what you like, and I get 10X the premium points. Whee!
Mix time: 46:53

Sorry that I zipped everything (even the mp3s alone). Not sure why I did that. Just a brain fart, I guess.
And he has a
musical suit.
There's nothing more to say. Really, must be experienced to be believed. See if you can find the video of his appearance on the TV show with Baron Harkonen hosting.
Or, how to get a dirty boy clean.
Yes guys, nothing says "I really need to get out of the house more often" to a lady than a pair of knockers hanging on the wall of your shower!
Though, depending on the placement on the wall, they could say a lot more about you, as well.
I want to laugh, and I know a guy who actually would buy this, but I'm also slightly creeped out by it. It just screams "One step up from buying that
pair of knockers."
p.s.-I originally went looking for one of
these to compare it to, but then found that product. Still slightly grossed out.
