Did anyone have a clue?

I mean, really! The folks in San Francisco must have been laughing their asses off when the Village People were a hit in mainstream America. I'll bet even Bible-thumpers like Robertson and Reagan loved the Village People.

Be careful who you make fun of...

So, I'm scrolling through Fark today, bored, and just randomly hit a link.
I've never been to BlogNYC before, but what the hell, I'm bored, and apparently someone is suing them.

This, though...this is HILARIOUS!
Stephanie Adams, a Playmate from 1992, is suing BlogNYC for defamation, libel, slander, and any other synonyms she can find in the thesaurus.

Here is the link for the whole list of blogs/back and forth between the guy who runs it, James Poling, and Ms. Adam's "PR Department" and lawyer.
Uh-oh, I put "PR Department" in quotation marks. We're gonna get sued for sure now.

But, the best part? One of the blog titles said "Stephanie Adams gets owned by BlogNYC." She's got that in her complaint. That they claimed to "own" her.
Jesus, apparently she has three freaking websites, and she's too fucking stupid to know what "Owned" means? She'd probably object if somebody told her she got "served", because she doesn't remember the waitress coming around.

Okay, I got a good laugh out of this, and hopefully you guys will too. Start at the bottom of the page, and just see how it gets sillier and sillier and sillier.

A tad too much TOL

This looks a little staged to me, but I suppose you never know with Donny Tourette and the guys. One thing for sure, never, ever, talk shit to drunk Brit punk rockers with reputations for violent behavior.

Damn, this chick is foxy!

My only question; what's up with the dog?

A spot of TOL

Don't know how you feel about Towers of London, but I like them a lot. Here goes.

Friday Random 11

[Cross posted at Stump Lane.]

I don't have the spoons to get a list of my top 100 albums together as others among us are doing... So here's a plain old list of eleven random songs.

Say what?
Fire up the jukebox, don't skip over anything, and take the first eleven that pop up. [Norbizness]

 1. Outer Accelerator -- Stereolab -- +

 2. Forgotten -- Linkin Park -- As Linkin Park songs go... -- +

 3. 54 Cymru Beats -- Aphex Twin -- =

 4. Come On In My Kitchen -- Robert Johnson -- +

 5. 19-2000 -- Gorillaz -- I suspect this song was diminished in my estimation by the 15,000 plays it got on the radio summer of '01. It was probably one of the last things I heard before the terrorists ruined everything. -- =

 6. Baghdad -- Offspring -- Anti-American, anti-war-in-Iraq song with a reference to flag burning "our flags our burning, our flags are burning." This is why we need a constitutional amendment... -- +

 7. There's Just No Home for You Here -- White Stripes -- -

 8. Soak the Sin -- Blind Melon -- Toward the end there's some really cool guitar work on this one. -- +

 9. Don't Go -- Yaz -- =

 10. Stuck in the Middle With You -- Stealers Wheel --
The ear slicing scene in Reservoir Dogs.
-- =

 11. I Bleed -- Pixies -- Not sure how popular this notion is, but the Pixies' Doolittle may just edge out Bossanova as my favorite Pixies album. It would make the top quarter of my top 100 albums. -- +

Bonus #12: Street Fighting Man -- Rage Against the Machine

I weeded a bunch of stuff off my player to make room for new music, which might have something to do with the fact there is only one "-" this week: +, +, =, +, =, +, -, +, =, =, +. Aggregate: +5.

Education Friday: "I'm Just A Bill"

Perhaps the most recognized Schoolhouse Rock song of them all. Sadly, this is the last installment of America Rock, as I can't find the last few episodes. Sorry, gang. I have a few episodes of Grammar Rock, which I'll start next week.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Japanese Spider-Man kicks all yer asses!

Just thought I'd post this in case you haven't seen it. What a freaky little mix this is! Thanks to Check the Cool Wax for posting it.

Are YOU ready for it?

Motherfuckin' Snakes on a Plane theme song. Jesus christ, it gets cheesier and cheesier the more I hear about it.

But, what will they sound like?

U.S. Scientists, who have apparently never heard of George Romero or the whole "zombie" thing, have realized a way to re-animate dogs after being dead for three hours. Fark totally said it best-"Your dog wants brains".

"A new scientific approach tested at the Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research, based in Pittsburgh, drains some of the animal's blood and replaces it with an ice-cold salt solution. The dog--considered technically dead without a heartbeat or brain waves--is then revived with a blood transfusion and electric shock up to three hours later. The process, called "suspended animation with delayed resuscitation," is ultimately designed to help suspend and revive emergency victims, such as casualties of war or car accidents, who have experienced an otherwise lethal hemorrhage.

Um, yeah. That's really about all I have to say. Zombies are bad, mm'kay? I'm all ready scared enough about them, and that was when they were only theoretical.
Thank you, science, for making one of my biggest nightmares come true.

Lookwell!

Created and written by Robert Smigel and Conan O'Brien, produced by Lorne Michaels, starring Adam West as a former TV detective who sets out to solve crimes in real life. What's not to love? And yet... unsold. Fortunately the pilot has escaped into the wild. Watch it while you can.
"You don't understand. I used to play a detective."

March 22, 1989

All St. Louis Blues hockey fans remember that day. It was the day the skate blade of Blues player Steve Tuttle accidentally sliced the jugular vein of Buffalo Sabres goalie, Clint Malarchuk. Yeah, it was gruesome. Luckily, the Buffalo training staff controlled the bleeding and Malarchuk was okay.

Thanks to the miracle of porcelain and the intrepid human spirit, that moment of gore has been captured for all time.

Yes, it's a lovely "Clint Malarchuk getting his jugular vein sliced" figurine!

The auction ended a couple of days ago, so this eBay page will try and redirect you. If you can hit "stop" on your browser just right, you can actually see and read the page, however. In the meantime, this link still works; it allows you to scroll through the different angles of the figurine. Most impressive.

Talented or lacks a social life?

Sometimes it's very hard to tell the difference. Whatever, this is pretty damn cool in my book.

It all makes sense now.

What!? You have a better explanation? I don't think so!

J-Pop Sunday

Hmm. I think JR was getting a bit weirded out by the Visual Kei there so today's set features no cross-dressing boys. Instead we're going a little bit retro-style here with Dorlis. Dorlis has a bit of a fairy tale story thing going on. She dropped out of school at age 17 and took up a career as a street musician, hitchhiking across Japan. After returning to her hometown she was discovered by a big-time music producer and has shot to fame in just a few short years. We had the swing revival here in the U.S. back in the 1990s so I guess it's time for it to hit Japan, but really I think this music is timeless. Enjoy.

Set List: 24 Jikan Sekai Isshu, Kioku no Bankakyou, Hada no Sukima, Marble no Tsuki, Ryusei no Time Capsule (Jazz Ballad Version), Taiyo no Scat.

Sunday in the Mix v12.0

Electronic madness!!!

That's what you get this week with the Mix. Also, I'm trying something new. I've added a Rapidshare link to download a zip file of almost all of the songs--I'll explain in a bit. I also threw in a couple of CD covers, just to be thorough. The file size is about 60MB, which you can download for free. You'll also need WinZip or something to unzip the file, obviously. Let me know if you prefer rar, otherwise I'll stick with this format. I'll also provide the Bolt file in case you don't want to download anything. I'm so freakin' kind!

Not too much in the way of descriptions this week. A good mix of techno, house, drum-n-bass, and everything in between.

One special treat is the dreaded "Song #8". This is the entire 62-minute mix by some dude named DC Tatort. It's pretty damn cool. I couldn't include this in the Rapidshare file (pushed me over the 100MB limit), but here is the link where you can download the entire thing. Thanks to breaksblog.biz for providing these ultra-cool mixes.

One more thing; I used every resource within my grasp but still couldn't find an original copy of ABBA's "Lay All Your Love On Me." Instead, I included the latest version by the band Sylver. If you can overlook the overly-dramatic Paris Hilton-like vocals, it's not too bad. Enjoy!

Mix time: 105 minutes!

1. Apollo 440 - "Disco Sucks"
2. Second Sun -"Love Simulator"
3. Kelley Polar - "In Time"
4. Front Line Assembly - "Unleashed"
5. Q Project - "Sleepers"
6. Nathan Fake - "Superpositions"
7. Ewun - "Hate Machine(Spor Remix)"
8. DC Tatort - "Studio Mix 0606"
9. Liquid Blasted - "Enjoy My Music Shit"
10. Sylver - "Lay All Your Love On Me"
