Free Running

Heard of "free running" yet? Well, watch this video to see what it is. There seems to be a freakishly unnatural amount of athletic ability required to even attempt free running; and to the parental eye the sport looks terrifying.

I IMPLORE YOU, DO NOT DO THIS, KIDS, YOU ARE NOT INDESTRUCTIBLE.

This guy doesn't really get going until about two minutes in, but watch the beginning anyway to build up to it. Spiderman has nothing on him. Incredible:

Crikey! Steve Irwin's dead!

Wow. I thought this was a joke when I first saw the headline, but it's true. The Crocodile Hunter is dead.

"He was killed in a freak accident in Cairns, police sources said today.

It is understood he was killed by a stingray barb that went through his chest.

He was swimming off the Low Isles at Port Douglas filming an underwater documentary when the tragedy occured.

Ambulance officers confirmed they attended a reef fatality this morning at Batt Reef off Port Douglas."

He was so passionate about nature and wildlife and managed to convey that in every show he taped. At least he went out doing what he loved. Still, and I think it's because he was so passionate and full of life, it's hard to believe he's gone.

I just checked Wikipedia and I see that he was only 4 years older than myself. What a shame.
