Atomic Swindlers

Hey, if it's good enough for George Smith, Senior Critic of the Village Voice (why is the Village Voice critical of old people?) it's good enough for me. Actually, I've got to admit that even if the music for this song doesn't grab me (it doesn't suck, but it just doesn't make me jump up and down shouting its' praises from my window), the video is pretty damn stylish. In fact, I think it even won an award or something for that. Anyway, here's Float (My Electric Stargirl) by the Atomic Swindlers.

Actually, I'm listening to it for the third time around and I've got to say the music is growing on me. It has a late 1980s/early 1990s Cyndi Lauper vibe to it.

It's not bad, but the lead singer's voice has a little grate to it that I'll have to get used to.
Really looks like Gendy Tartakovski (sp?) did the animation. REALLY looks like it.

Now that you mention it, it does look like Gendy Tartovsky's work, but it was actually Joe Trussell.

actually, it sounds kinda like portishead only a little more accessible. very cool music...not your normal alt. copycat stuff. the video has a great look.
