Good news, bad news and Sunday J-Pop

Good news: Remember Tastes Like Chicken? Their website, Tastes Like Music, has been up since the end of April it looks like and there's some tunes there you haven't heard before.

Bad news: I'm putting Friday Night Videos on hiatus. I came to the realization this week that I've way over-committed myself and I've got to start cutting back since the stuff I really care about is slipping. Not that I don't care about you Shitheads or FNV, I enjoyed doing these. But they took a lot of time and I've got to start somewhere. Sorry gang.

Sunday J-Pop: OK, this really should be under good news too because I'm not actually going to inflict you with j-pop this week, but you get a real, live Japanese rock band instead. Here's The Pillows with Ride on Shooting Star from the Furi Kuri soundtrack. These guys are cooler than ninjas.

What a terrific little pop ditty.

I respect and understand the FNV decision. They were pretty cool, but we all can empathize with the "life thing".

I don't want to get all sentimental here, but you guys have been really great about posting stuff on BS. The quantity and quality of the posting has remained very high over the months, and I sincerely thank all of you for that.

I aim to do a little proper promoting of BS very soon, so maybe other people will stop by once and a while.

If you haven't seen FLCL you really have too. Even people who hate anime like it. Besides, it's short, only 6 episodes (about 140 minutes). Of course, you have to watch each episode like 10 times in order to figure out what's going on but by the end you'll just be so blown away by the music and the spectacle that you won't care that you've watch the whole thing three times over and still don't understand everything.
